| This special education Wiki has been started to allow the special education teachers that form the Zumbro Education District an online meeting place To join these online discussions, you must join wetpaint and be invited. This site will be for teachers in ZED only. Check out the attachments below from our job a likes sessions: This site can be used to ask your colleagues questions, share information about curriculum, or to continue discussions from the job alike sessions. Because we all work in smaller districts that often have only one teacher in each area, we need to have a safe, easy method to communicate with our colleagues in the same disability area. Free Technology for Teachers: Free tech sites. Good Information click on blue words. Please be respectful and professional with your posts. This is not the place to just complain.. It is meant to be a positive place to help solve problems. Also remember not to use student names on this site. If you have questions about how to navigate this site please contact me at carolynne.white@byron.k12.mn.us If you have colleagues that did not get registered, please show them how to get on to this site. The more people we have using it, the better it works. | |

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get a child to use hands to slide back on a toilet? Likewise, to push off on a slide to go down? Child is in severely cognitively impaired.

An alternate assessment based on alternate achievement standards, the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS), is provided for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. A second alternate assessment, the MCA-Modified, which is based on modified achievement standards, is being developed. The MCA-Modified is being designed for a small group of students whose disability has precluded them from achieving grade-level proficiency. The first operational administration on the MCA-Modified is planned for spring 2011.
