This special education Wiki has been started to allow the special education teachers that form the Zumbro Education District an online meeting place

To join these online discussions, you must join wetpaint and be invited.
This site will be for teachers in ZED only.

This site can be used to ask your colleagues questions, share information about curriculum, or to continue discussions from the job alike sessions. Because we all work in smaller districts that often have only one teacher in each area, we need to have a safe, easy method to communicate with our colleagues in the same disability area.

Thanks, Nicole, for sending out the e-mail addresses for ZED secondary DCD teachers. If anyone knows of someone who should be added to our list, please reply to all so we can update our contact list. I see we have nobody listed from Pine Island, so I anticipate we will be adding at least one name.

Here are my rough notes from our job alike session at ZED on Feb. 18.
1. Create an e-mail group
- useful when we have random questions throughout the school year
- use to plan future job alike sessions
2. Recommendation - continue job alike meetings for 2010 - 2011 school year
- have first meeting 2nd or 3rd week of school
- meet once each quarter (my input ... not from the meeting ... with the cost of subs, maybe 2 meetings at ZED like this year, maybe set 2 after school meetings for those who can make it ... at least to get started)
- focus both on MM and SP
- possible topics: group-generated sample IEP for SP and for MM

Carolynne and Darcie - I'm sending this to you so you can share it with the appropriate ZED minds. I think it is safe to say that our meetings this year were positive experiences. Thanks to ZED for those opportunities. We hope to build on them in the future.
